Description

A miniature chest of drawers, often referred to as an apprentice piece, likely dating from the Arts & Crafts movement around the late 19th century. These miniature chests were traditionally made by apprentices as a demonstration of their woodworking skills. The chest is constructed from oak, featuring a rich grain pattern, and has a total of five drawers: two smaller ones at the top and three larger ones below. The drawer fronts are accented with darker wood trim and fitted with turned black knobs. The sides of the chest showcase the oak’s grain, while the base includes small, turned feet. These miniature chests were ideal for storing jewelry, small objects, or papers.
