Gavin Lavelle graduated from NCAD Dublin in 1991 and now lives and works in Clifden, Galway. He works in mixed-media collage, combining gesso, acrylic paint, variously sourced images (such as maps, bird books, botanical and historical sourcebooks and catalogues), and small natural and unnatural found objects to manifest surreal images of alternate worlds. His work has been selected by the Royal Hibernian Academy, Dublin, the Royal Ulster Academy, Belfast and the Royal West of England Academy, Bristol.
