The box depicts a period Butchers shop. The scene of  a butcher working at the shop window ,the hanging carcasses and shop signs hark back to days gone by .
The patinated exterior is superbly painted to depict a period shop.  
A very desirable little piece for any collector of unusual decorative antiques. 
Please note the box is antique and so shows signs of age which is part of its charm.
